About the Gol Gooneh project
Gol Gooneh is an online store for makeup, skin and hair care, fragrance and men's products. Its catalogue holds more than 17,000 products with about 37,000 photos, organised into makeup, skincare, sunscreen, serums, hair care, fragrance and gift sets, and every brand has its own page.
Buying cosmetics always raises two questions: «will this colour suit me?» and «is this right for my skin?». So on Gol Gooneh customers can try lipstick colours on their face with the phone camera, find their skin type with a seven-question quiz and even find similar products by sending a photo.
Challenge
Cosmetics shoppers worry about authenticity and expiry dates and cannot see colour and texture through a screen. A catalogue of thousands of products and dozens of brands also had to be arranged so customers reach what they want in seconds, buy easily on mobile, and every product page is visible on Google.
Solution
Trust was built into the product page: an authenticity guarantee with authenticity and IRC labels, the expiry date announced at dispatch, a seven-day return guarantee and cash on delivery in selected cities. For choosing well, camera colour try-on, a skin-type quiz and free beauty advice were added, and text and image search plus «in stock», «on sale», «fast delivery» and «pregnancy-safe» filters shorten the way to the right product.
