OVERVIEW
About the Bemo Gold project
Bemo Gold is a complete online gold and jewellery store, custom-built from scratch. Its key difference from ordinary stores is that no product price is entered by hand: the price of every ring, necklace or earring is calculated from weight, karat, the live gold rate, making fee, profit and tax, and when the market rate changes the whole store updates instantly.
Next to the store we built what gold buyers actually need: a live gold and coin price page, a gold calculator, shopping by occasion and by budget or weight, seasonal collections, custom jewellery orders, buyback and exchange requests, authenticity checks with a certificate ID and booking an in-store visit.
Challenge
The gold price changes several times a day, and a store that updates prices by hand either sells at a loss or disappoints customers with old prices. Online gold buyers are also sensitive to detail: they want to know where the price comes from, what the weight and making fee are, and how authenticity, exchange and buyback are guaranteed after purchase.
Solution
An independent pricing engine fetches the day's rate automatically and calculates each product's price from weight, karat, making fee, seller profit and tax, showing the breakdown on the product page. Every piece gets an authenticity certificate that can be checked on the site with an ID. Custom orders, buyback and in-store appointments each have their own form and follow-up queue in the admin panel.
